Hunter and Nina’s wedding at Great Waters Reynolds Lake Oconee was nothing short of a dream. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Lake Oconee, this lakeside venue is truly one of Georgia’s hidden gems. As soon as I arrived, I felt the excitement in the air and knew the day would be unforgettable. The entire celebration took place outdoors, allowing the natural beauty of Great Waters to enhance every aspect of their wedding day.
The day began with Nina and her bridesmaids getting ready in the clubhouse. There was so much laughter filling the air, her bridesmaids were so excited for her to get married. Nina’s light blue bridesmaids’ dresses were the perfect complement to the serene blues of the lake. Meanwhile, Hunter and his groomsmen got ready in another space, and I loved how Hunter’s white tux set him apart from his friends, who all wore classic black.
One of the most touching moments was Nina’s first look with her dad before the ceremony. You could truly see the depth of their bond as her dad saw her in her wedding dress for the first time.
The ceremony took place right by the water, with a stunning floral installation that framed the lake perfectly. Guests were provided with parasols to shade them from the sun, adding a charming touch to the outdoor setting. A close friend of the couple officiated, and because he knew them so well, his words were both personal and endearing. Hunter and Nina have surrounded themselves with people who love them deeply.
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the beautiful lakeside setting for portraits. The lake served as a breathtaking backdrop, and the light at Great Waters Reynolds Lake Oconee was simply perfect. One of my favorite moments was sneaking off with them for some sunset photos on the dock. The calm of the lake, the gentle light, and the way Nina and Hunter seemed to relax in each other’s presence made for some of the most stunning photos of the day.
They held their Great Waters Reynolds Lake Oconee wedding reception under a tent by the lake, beautifully decorated. Chinoiserie dinner plates and vases filled with white florals created an elegant and timeless look. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the decor to the candy favors. Guests could fill bags with their favorite sweets from a customized candy board that read, “Our sweetest chapter yet.” It was such a fun and unique touch that added a personal element to the reception.
Instead of a traditional cake cutting, Nina and Hunter opted for a candy bar where they shared a sweet candy kiss. There was also a donut bar where guests could customize their donuts with various toppings. This playful approach to dessert was a hit with everyone and added a fun twist to the evening.
Another highlight was the live wedding painter who captured the ceremony on canvas, continuing to paint throughout the night. Watching the masterpiece come to life and providing great entertainment for the guests was incredible.
As the night went on, the dance floor was full of energy, especially when Hunter brought out custom hats as a surprise. Nina’s reaction was priceless when she saw the hat read, “Put it on my husband’s tab.” The band kept the party going, and at one point, Hunter, Nina, and her mom joined the band on stage to sing a song together. It was the perfect way to end the night, filled with so much joy and celebration.
The evening came to a close, guests lined up to wish Nina and Hunter farewell. With a grand send-off, the couple left their Great Waters Reynolds Lake Oconee wedding surrounded by love, ready to start their next chapter together. This beautiful lakeside venue provided the perfect setting for their special day, and I’m so grateful that I could capture so many memories that they’ll cherish forever.
