John and Riley’s wedding in the heart of Atlanta was a day filled with joy and many cherished memories. From the moment Riley reached out to me shortly after their engagement, I knew this would be an unforgettable celebration. Photography was at the top of Riley and her mom’s priority list, and it was clear from the start that every moment would be meaningful. And let me tell you, these two will have so many precious photos to look back on from their Cherokee Town Club wedding!
The day began at the beautiful Cherokee Town Club, which holds special significance for Riley. She and her siblings grew up here, and their childhood memories added an extra layer of sentiment to the day. The getting-ready space at the club was everything a photographer dreams of – flooded with natural light and adorned with antique pieces that added a touch of elegance to the morning.
All dressed in matching pajamas, Riley and her bridesmaids started the day with a champagne pop. Before everyone slipped into their dresses, there was such excitement and energy. Riley’s mom and sisters helped her get dressed, and as the first of her sisters to get married, it was such an emotional moment filled with happy tears.
One of my favorite moments from the morning was Riley’s first look with her dad on the clubhouse stairs. His reaction to seeing her was heartwarming. Meanwhile, John had his own special moment when he opened a gift from Riley.
The ceremony occurred at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, which both John and Riley hold close to their hearts. They both grew up attending this church, making it the perfect setting to begin their journey as husband and wife. They chose not to have a first look, which made the moment Riley walked down the aisle all the more special. Seeing John’s face light up as he saw her for the first time was one of the highlights of the day.
Their love was beautifully celebrated in the ceremony, surrounded by family and friends who have supported them throughout their relationship. The church’s timeless beauty provided the perfect backdrop for such a meaningful occasion.
After the ceremony, we returned for their Cherokee Town Club wedding photos with the wedding party, and the two of them. The venue’s stunning exterior and lush grounds offered countless picturesque spots, making it a dream location for wedding photos. Riley’s vision for their Cherokee Town Club wedding came to life with her choice of blue and white decor, including her own collection of vases.
We snuck out during sunset, even though the weather didn’t cooperate, for some photos with John’s grandfather’s classic Mustang. This family heirloom added a touch of vintage charm to the day. Papa John made sure to pose by the car, too, and it is a moment that they will truly treasure forever.
The reception was an absolute blast! The band kept the energy high all night, and the custom hats and glow sticks were a hit with the guests. If you truly want a fun party for your Cherokee Town Club wedding reception, I highly recommend getting some props that your guests can enjoy on the dance floor. Late-night bites of fries served with the cutest little ketchup squeeze tubes were a crowd favorite. Definitely my kind of late-night snack!
There were so many heartwarming moments throughout the evening, from the grandparents tearing up the dance floor to John’s father, who also served as his best man, dancing with the couple. And, of course, Riley and John couldn’t resist getting up on stage to sing along with the band.
The evening ended with a flower petal toss as John and Riley made their grand exit. Surrounded by the love of their family and friends, they drove off in style in the Mustang, making the perfect end to an incredible day.
Congratulations, Riley and John! I wish you two high school sweethearts so much fun and love throughout your marriage.
