It was a gorgeous September day when I photographed Garland and Zach’s Callanwolde Fine Arts Center wedding! This Atlanta wedding venue is just a little north of downtown and is stunning, especially if you’re searching for an estate wedding venue. Just wait until you see how colorful their day was!
Zach and Gardland’s paths crossed while working at Chick-fil-A corporate several years ago. Zach proposed at this picture-perfect location while they were in Florence, Italy!
The day started by getting ready at Hotel Clermont. This hotel in Atlanta is so fun and made for the perfect getting-ready space for Garland and her bridesmaids. Once she was in her dress, we headed up to the rooftop, where we did a reveal with her bridesmaids. It was a moment filled with cheers and tears of joy as they were amazed by how awesome Garland looked!
Once we arrived at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, Garland shared a touching moment with her dad as they did a first look. For their first look in the gardens, Zach and Garland were ecstatic, and their excitement was palpable. They read from personal vow books, sharing their promises to one another. While we were taking their portraits, Zach would continue to admire Garland’s beauty with pure awe and adoration. It was so sweet!
One of my favorite parts of their Callanwolde Fine Arts Center wedding was the explosion of color. The floral arrangements were a vivid burst, perfectly capturing the warm September weather before transitioning into fall. Pink and coral flowers adorned Garland’s bouquet, which looked amazing with her wedding dress. This gown had removable sleeves that were so whimsical and added a delicate touch to her appearance.
Their Callanwolde Fine Arts Center wedding ceremony felt like a secret garden, with floral statements lining the aisle and a breathtaking arch framing their vows. Their sweet furry child, Leo, stole the show during the ceremony. To all the pet lovers out there – having your furbaby at the wedding, even for just a few moments, results in some precious portraits.
As the sun set, we transitioned into the indoor reception space that mirrored the couple’s vibrant love. Different colored goblets and an abundance of flowers adorned the tables. Before welcoming the guests in, we captured a few intimate moments with Zach and Garland, showcasing the beautifully decorated venue.
While loved ones gave toasts, there was one given that made everyone chuckle. People refer to relationships that start within Chick-fil-A as “Chick-fil-ationships.” Of course, their late-night bite was catered by no other than Chick-fil-A.
The dancing started with a wardrobe change – Garland slipped into a chic party dress, proving that a second dress isn’t just practical for dancing and adds an element of surprise for the guests. A live band set the tone for an unforgettable party, and as the night drew to a close, guests lined up to send the newlyweds off with waving ribbons, a perfect ending to a day filled with love.
I was also honored to be Garland’s best friend’s Atlanta wedding photographer earlier in the year! Garland and her friend reached out to me without realizing the other did, and they both ended up booking. It’s so fun photographing wedding days when some of my past/current couples also attend!
Fun fact: I welcomed my bundle of joy just five days after capturing Garland and Zach’s Callanwolde Fine Arts Center wedding! Congratulations to this fantastic couple!
