As the year is ending (literally today, thank God!) I wanted to sit down and reflect on the changes and progress I have made in my business. 2020 brought us some major curveballs, altered life plans, and made everyone question what the heck was going on? Although the year was tricky for the wedding industry, there was some bright side: I had the opportunity to photograph some of my absolute favorite weddings. Ever. I even traveled to Vegas for the coolest elopement. Anyways, let’s talk about this dream intimate wedding on Lake Chatuge, plush with wildflowers.

Katie and Tanner had planned their wedding for March 2020. The weekend after we were all blindsided and everything shut down. We all thought the pandemic would be over after Summer, so they made the difficult decision to postpone their wedding to August. As their second date grew closer, it was clear that COVID was still very much a threat, and they just wanted to be married. Along with the help of their incredible vendor team (linked below!) Katie and Tanner celebrated their marriage in the sweetest, intimate ceremony surrounded by close family on Lake Chatuge. With an abundance of wildflower and colorful runners, their ceremony fit them perfectly.

Together, Luxe and Bloom, Crush Event Rentals and Ellen Thomas Events created an amazing reception space for the newlyweds to share their first dance together. I loved that they danced to Aerosmiths “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” and they made sure to get into the song, which was SO cute. After dinner, their family members shared a toast filled with sweet memories and laughs. The entire night was filled with cocktails, delcious BBQ, cake and yard games! It was so wonderful to see how perfectly the entire day came together for this beautiful couple.
